Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Last Updated: October 23, 2025
You may cancel your Word of Mouth subscription (a product by HyperInt) at any time, whether you're using our Shopify app or manual integration for WordPress, custom websites, or other platforms. This Cancellation Policy explains the cancellation process, what happens to your data, billing implications, and your rights.
We believe in providing flexibility and transparency. There are no long-term contracts or commitments—you can cancel whenever you choose. By using our Service, you agree to the terms outlined in this Cancellation Policy.
1. How to Cancel Your Subscription
1.1 For Shopify Users
Cancelling your Word of Mouth subscription on Shopify is quick and easy:
- Access Shopify Admin: Log in to your Shopify admin panel.
- Navigate to Apps: Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels.
- Find Word of Mouth: Locate Word of Mouth in your installed apps list.
- Uninstall: Click on the app, then click "Uninstall" or "Delete app."
- Confirm: Confirm the uninstallation when prompted.
Important: Uninstalling the app automatically cancels your subscription. No additional steps are required.
1.2 For Manual Integration Users (WordPress, Custom Websites, etc.)
To cancel your manual integration subscription:
- Contact Support: Email us at contact@hyperint.tech with "Subscription Cancellation" in the subject line.
- Provide Details: Include your website URL, account email, and any relevant subscription or invoice details.
- Confirmation: You will receive a cancellation confirmation email within 1–2 business days.
- Remove Integration (Optional): You can remove the Word of Mouth integration code from your website at any time. We'll provide instructions if needed.
1.3 Cancellation Confirmation
After cancellation, you will receive a confirmation email containing:
- Cancellation date and time
- Last day of service access
- Information about data retention and deletion
- Options for exporting your data before deletion
- Instructions for reactivation if you change your mind
2. Billing and Subscription Changes
2.1 Immediate Billing Stop
Upon cancellation, all future billing stops immediately. You will not be charged for any subsequent billing cycles. However, you will not receive a refund for the current billing period unless the cancellation is due to a service issue (see our Refund Policy for details).
2.2 Access Until End of Billing Period
When you cancel, you retain full access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. For example:
- If you have a monthly subscription and cancel on January 15th, you'll have access until February 14th (if your billing date is the 14th).
- If you have an annual subscription, you'll have access for the remainder of the year.
This ensures you receive the full value of your payment and have time to transition to an alternative solution or export your data.
2.3 Pro-Rated Cancellations
We do not typically offer pro-rated refunds for partial months or years. However, if you experience service issues that warrant cancellation and a refund, we may provide a pro-rated refund at our discretion. Please refer to our Refund Policy for eligibility criteria.
2.4 Final Invoice
If you have any outstanding charges at the time of cancellation, you will receive a final invoice. This must be paid according to the payment terms you agreed to upon subscription. Failure to pay outstanding invoices may result in:
- Immediate suspension of service access
- Inability to export your data
- Collection actions for unpaid balances
- Negative impact on future subscriptions with HyperInt
3. Data Retention and Deletion
3.1 Grace Period (30 Days)
After your subscription ends (either through cancellation or non-renewal), your data remains accessible in our systems for 30 days. During this grace period:
- Read-Only Access: You can view and export your data, but you cannot add new reviews or make changes (unless you resubscribe).
- Data Export: You can request a full export of your data at any time during this period.
- Reactivation: You can reactivate your subscription at any time, and all your data will be immediately available.
- No Charges: There are no charges during this grace period—it's provided as a courtesy.
3.2 Permanent Deletion After 30 Days
After the 30-day grace period expires, all your data is permanently deleted from our production systems. This includes:
- All customer reviews (text, ratings, dates, customer information)
- Review photos and media files
- Configuration settings and customizations
- Dashboard data and analytics
- Account information and preferences
- Integration settings and API keys
Warning: Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We cannot recover your data after the 30-day period ends. Please export any data you wish to keep before this deadline.
3.3 Backup Systems
Data in our backup systems (used for disaster recovery) may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion from production systems. This data is encrypted, inaccessible for normal operations, and automatically purged after 90 days. You cannot request access to data in backup systems.
3.4 Legal Retention
Certain information may be retained longer if required for:
- Legal compliance (tax records, financial transactions)
- Fraud prevention and investigation
- Resolving disputes or enforcing agreements
- Regulatory requirements
This typically includes billing records, invoices, and account transaction history, which may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable law.
3.5 Early Deletion Requests
If you want your data deleted immediately upon cancellation (without the 30-day grace period), you can request early deletion by:
- Emailing contact@hyperint.tech with "Immediate Data Deletion Request" in the subject line.
- Confirming you understand that this action is permanent and irreversible.
- Providing your account details for verification.
We will process early deletion requests within 3–5 business days.
4. Data Export Options
4.1 Self-Service Export
Before cancellation or during the 30-day grace period, you can export your data:
- For Shopify Users: Use the export function in the Word of Mouth dashboard within the Shopify app.
- For Manual Integration Users: Log in to your Word of Mouth account and navigate to Settings → Export Data.
4.2 Supported Export Formats
We support the following export formats:
- CSV: Spreadsheet-compatible format for reviews and customer data
- JSON: Structured data format for developers and technical users
- ZIP: Compressed archive containing all review media files (photos, videos)
4.3 Assisted Export
If you need assistance exporting your data or require a custom format, contact our support team at contact@hyperint.tech. We'll work with you to ensure you can access your data in a usable format.
5. Reactivation and Reinstallation
5.1 Reactivation Within 30 Days
If you change your mind within 30 days of cancellation, reactivation is simple:
- Shopify Users: Reinstall the Word of Mouth app from the Shopify App Store. Your account and data will be automatically restored.
- Manual Integration Users: Contact us at contact@hyperint.tech to reactivate your subscription. Your data will be restored within 24 hours.
Billing will resume based on your previous subscription plan, unless you choose a different plan during reactivation.
5.2 Reinstallation After 30 Days
If you reinstall Word of Mouth after the 30-day grace period:
- You will start with a fresh, empty account—all previous data will have been permanently deleted.
- You will need to reconfigure settings, import reviews (if available from your export), and set up integrations again.
- You may be eligible for new customer promotions or pricing (if available at the time).
- Previous subscription history and billing information will still be available for accounting purposes.
5.3 No Penalty for Cancellation
There are no penalties, fees, or restrictions for cancelling and later reactivating your subscription. You're free to come back at any time.
6. Impact on Displayed Reviews
6.1 Widget Functionality After Cancellation
After your subscription ends and you are no longer paying for the service:
- Review widgets will stop displaying on your website. Visitors will no longer see the reviews that were previously shown.
- Embedded review code will cease to function. Any HTML, JavaScript, or plugin code will no longer load review content.
- This happens immediately when your subscription access ends (typically at the end of your billing period, or 30 days after cancellation).
6.2 Removing Integration Code
To prevent broken elements or error messages on your website after cancellation, we recommend removing the Word of Mouth integration code:
- Shopify Users: The app will be automatically uninstalled; no additional code removal is needed.
- WordPress Users: Deactivate and delete the Word of Mouth plugin from your WordPress dashboard.
- Custom Websites: Remove the Word of Mouth JavaScript snippet and HTML embed codes from your website files.
We can provide detailed removal instructions upon request.
7. Subscription Pausing (Temporary Suspension)
7.1 Pause Option
If you need a temporary break but don't want to lose your data, you may be able to pause your subscription instead of cancelling. Contact us at contact@hyperint.tech to inquire about:
- Reduced pricing during the pause period
- Data retention without active service
- Temporary suspension for seasonal businesses
Pause availability and terms are determined on a case-by-case basis and may not be available for all subscription types.
7.2 Downgrading Instead of Cancelling
If cost is a concern, consider downgrading to a lower-tier plan instead of cancelling. This allows you to:
- Retain your data and configuration
- Maintain access to core features
- Reduce monthly costs without losing everything
- Easily upgrade again when needed
8. Automatic Cancellation Scenarios
8.1 Failed Payments
If your payment method fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):
- We will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times over a 7-day period.
- You will receive email notifications about the failed payment and instructions to update your payment information.
- If payment is not received after 3 attempts, your subscription will be automatically cancelled.
- The 30-day grace period begins immediately after the final failed payment attempt.
You can prevent automatic cancellation by updating your payment method before the third failed attempt.
8.2 Terms of Service Violations
HyperInt reserves the right to immediately suspend or cancel your subscription without refund if you violate our Terms of Service, including:
- Fraudulent activity or abuse of the Service
- Generating fake or manipulated reviews
- Attempting to hack, reverse-engineer, or compromise the Service
- Violating applicable laws or regulations
- Repeatedly initiating chargebacks without valid reason
In these cases, data may be immediately deleted without the standard 30-day grace period.
8.3 Service Discontinuation
If HyperInt decides to discontinue the Word of Mouth service entirely (unlikely, but possible), we will:
- Provide at least 90 days advance notice
- Offer pro-rated refunds for any unused subscription period
- Provide extended data access and export tools
- Recommend alternative solutions or migration paths
9. Cancellation Feedback
9.1 Exit Survey (Optional)
When you cancel, we may ask you to complete a brief exit survey. This helps us understand:
- Why you're cancelling
- What features or improvements would have kept you as a customer
- Your overall satisfaction with the Service
- Suggestions for improvement
Completing the survey is completely optional but greatly appreciated. Your feedback helps us improve Word of Mouth for all users.
9.2 Retention Offers
Based on your feedback, we may offer:
- Discounted pricing to encourage you to stay
- Custom support to resolve any issues you're experiencing
- Feature access or priority support
- Alternative plans that better fit your needs
You are never obligated to accept these offers—they're simply options we provide to valued customers who may be on the fence.
10. Third-Party Cancellations
10.1 Shopify Account Closure
If you close your Shopify store or Shopify account:
- Your Word of Mouth subscription will be automatically cancelled.
- Standard data retention policies apply (30-day grace period).
- You will not be charged after Shopify closes your account.
10.2 Platform Changes
If Shopify or other integrated platforms make changes that affect Word of Mouth functionality, we will:
- Attempt to adapt and maintain compatibility
- Notify you of any service interruptions or changes
- Offer cancellation without penalty if the Service can no longer function as intended
11. Rights and Obligations After Cancellation
11.1 Your Rights
After cancellation, you have the right to:
- Access and export your data during the 30-day grace period
- Request early deletion of your data
- Receive confirmation of data deletion

11.2 Your Obligations
After cancellation, you must:
- Pay any outstanding invoices or charges
- Remove Word of Mouth integration code from your website (to prevent errors)
- Export any data you wish to keep before the 30-day deadline
- Discontinue use of any Word of Mouth branding or assets
11.3 HyperInt's Obligations
After you cancel, HyperInt will:
- Provide a 30-day grace period for data access
- Send cancellation confirmation and data deletion timeline
- Permanently delete your data after the grace period (unless legally required to retain it)
- Stop all future billing
- Provide support for data export and account closure questions
12. Regional Considerations
12.1 GDPR (European Union)

- Request immediate data deletion (right to erasure) instead of the 30-day grace period
- Receive your data in a portable format (right to data portability)
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
12.2 CCPA (California, USA)
California residents have the right to:
- Request deletion of personal information we have collected
- Know what personal information is being collected and how it's used
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (Note: We do not sell personal information)
13. Changes to This Cancellation Policy
We may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice within the Service.
